Welcome to The Cozy Book Nook — a warm corner for cozy reads, travel stories, and meaningful books that inspire slower living.

Books are woven through everything I do — from the recipes I cook to the projects I stitch. Some make me laugh, some teach me something new, and others simply remind me to slow down and enjoy the little things.

This cozy book nook is a mix of genres and moods — part library, part kitchen counter, part cozy corner — always filled with stories that feel like home.

Fiction & Cozy Mysteries for Slow Evenings

When life feels hectic, nothing soothes like a good story that draws you in. Whether it’s a mystery set in a sleepy village or a heartfelt novel about friendship, these are my favorite escape reads.

Some of my cozy picks:

  • Feel-good novels about community and second chances
  • Seasonal or holiday reads that pair perfectly with a blanket and tea

Scottish Historical Romance Favorites

Scottish historical romance novels are some of my favorite escape reads. Stories set in the Highlands combine history, loyalty, and unforgettable characters – especially in series like the Highland Guard by Monica McCarty.

One of my favorite historical romance series is the Highland Guard Series by Monica McCarty. Set during the wars of Robert the Bruce, the books follow an elite brotherhood of warriors fighting for Scotland’s independence.

The series takes readers through the Highlands of Scotland during one of Scotland’s most stressful and battle-filled periods – yet the stories still leave room for loyalty, friendship, and love in the middle of the turmoil.

If you’re new to the Highland Guard series, these are wonderful places to start:

  • The Chief – the beginning of the Highland Guard and Tor MacLeod’s unforgettable story
  • The Hawk – a brilliant seafarer whose story expands the Guard’s world
  • The Ranger – a spy deep behind enemy lines with a dangerous secret

Craft, Creativity & Handmade Inspiration

Some books aren’t meant to be read straight through — they’re meant to be used. My craft bookshelf is full of yarn guides, stitch patterns, and design inspiration that remind me how satisfying handmade life can be.
