Three Ingredient Freezer Dog Treats (Homemade Pumpkin Bites)
Easy 3 Ingredient Freezer Dog Treats

If your dogs (or cats!) love a cool treat now and then, then these easy 3 ingredient freezer dog treats are perfect – and they’re so simple. I mix plain Greek yogurt, a spoonful of natural peanut butter and some pumpkin puree, then spoon the mixture into silicone molds. And after a few hours in the freezer, they pop right out into creamy little bites the dogs absolutely love.
What I like about these frozen dog treats is how quick they are to make – no cooking, no fuss, and just three everyday ingredients I already keep in the kitchen. The pumpkin is gentle on their stomachs, the yogurt gives them a nice creamy texture, and the peanut butter…well, that’s the part that gets tails wagging the minute the container comes out.
Once I made these, I havenโt gone back to store bought treats since. My dog loves them. They cost pennies to make, and I know exactly whatโs in every single bite. There are no fillers, no artificial colors and no weird preservatives. Just real food.
Why Homemade 3 Ingredient Freezer Dog Treats Are Better (and Cheaper)
It was surprising, I found that I was spending a huge amount of money on store-bought treats that easily run $10โ$20 a bag, especially the ones labeled โnatural,โ โgrain-free,โ or โhealthy.โ So, I decided to make my own. And when I make my own, most batches cost between $4-6 and make several dozen treats.
Plus, most recipes use things I already have:
- Peanut Butter (all- natural)
- Pumpkin puree (canned)
- Yogurt (plain)
I can mix everything in one bowl, bake them quickly, then store them for weeks. And, since I shape them myself, nothing goes to waste โ I make small training treats or bigger snacks depending on what my dogs need.
Are Homemade 3 Ingredient Freezer Dog Treats Healthier for Dogs? Absolutely.
Homemade treats let you control every single ingredient. No dyes, no chemical preservatives, no mystery โmeat meal.โ
Hereโs what Iโve noticed:
- Better digestion โ oats and pumpkin are gentle on sensitive tummies
- Steady energy โ peanut butter and eggs add natural protein
- Fewer allergy issues โ you can skip chicken, wheat, or anything your dog reacts to
It just feels good knowing exactly what Iโm feeding them.

Why I Pair Homemade Treats With Quality Dog Food
Homemade treats are meant to be a bonus, not a replacement for real nutrition. That’s why I make sure my dogs eat their regular meals first.
Lately, that’s been Zeal Pet Food – because the ingredients are simple, the protein is real, and every time I open a can, every pet in the house shows ups.
when your dog is already getting good food, treats stay as what they’re meant to be: fun, occasional, and safe.

Zeal Pet Food โ My Honest Take
โI tested Zealโs chicken recipe one night and honestly wasnโt expecting much. After mixing a little canned Zeal into their dry food โ the next thing I knew, all three cats (yes, I have cats, too) were lined up, one nudging the others to get closer. Even the dogs were waiting by the counter to see if theyโd get a taste. It passed the sniff test fast.โ This was when started the dogs on Zeal Dog Food.

Storage Tips
These three ingredient freezer dog treats freeze beautifully and keep their shape well. Once they’re solid, I pop them out of the molds. then I move them to a freezer bag, so they take up less space. That way they are easier to grab whenever the pets want a cool snack.
- They last about 2 months in the freezer.
- For smaller dogs, spoon the mixer into mini molds so the portions are tiny and easy to manage.
- If the mixture if a bit thick to spoon, add a teaspoon of water to thin it out.
